December 3, 2011 - PBC Western Representatives Named Pony Breeders of Canada is pleased to announce that 3 Western Canadian provincial representatives have been named along with the founding province of Ontario. These three individuals understand the concept of PBC and will work towards helping provide pony breeders and enthusiasts in their provinces support by assisting in the fostering of competitions, clinics and other events that aid in the promotion, recognition and marketing of all ponies for sport, pleasure and breeding. In BC - Jennifer Zachary of Turning Point Ranch, Pritchard BC; in AB - Donna O'Neil, Marsh Haven Farm, New Sarepta AB, in SK - Alana Wilson Longman of Cherry Hill Equestrian Centre, Harris SK and pony enthusiasts in Ontario and the rest of Canada have Diana Macdonald, Pony Breeders of Ontario to answer their questions and facilitate marketing and promotion.
November, 2011 - Canadian Pony Breeders Show to be revived in 2013 Pony Breedders of Canada and Pony Breeders of Ontario will be teaming up to revive this famous all breed pony show that ran from 1966 until 1992.The 2013 Date and location are yet to be determined but efforts are under way to make this the pony event it was - good clean fun with great cameraderie where pony enthusiasts can exhibit their prized possessions. March 19, 2011 - Pony Breeders of Canada announces All-Canadian Pony Contest. The only place where East meets West and all points in between without having to trailer your pony across the nation! Canadian-bred ponies belonging to participants of Pony Breeders of Canada and Pony Breeders of Ontario are eligible at no extra nomination fee. Show at your usual open, non-breed shows and qualify. March 11, 2011 - PBO had a very successful 1st Online Stallion Service Auction. 20 sires on offer, 5 selling raising $1,550 to be put towards pony recognition and promotion. Plans are underway to hold the auction again in 2012 - we already have some stallions being offered. To see the stallions that were on offer in 2011, go to Pony Breeders of Ontario.
A series of Sport Pony shows (open to all ponies) is being planned in AB and possibly BC. Run in conjunction with NASPR similar to the Star Search in the east. For more details check out the NASPR website.
An exciting new coast to coast competition is in the works stay tuned for more details.
December 28, 2010- Well another year has almost passed us and Pony Breeders of Canada is climbing out of its infancy. Interest is high with our Facebook group.
In order to help breeders with additional promtion and exposure Pony Breeders of Canada will be combining with Pony Breeders of Ontario for a 2011 Breeders Directory. For details see 2011 Breeders Directory. Advertising deadline is January 31st, 2011.
Within Ontario, the first Ontario-bred Pony Show was a success with 45 ponies exhibited by 26 enthusiasts. Plans are being finalized on the 2nd Show. You know your province better than we do, but working together we can make dreams come true.
